Scott Emerson

cott Emerson is a native of St. Louis, Missouri, with deep Mississippi roots. A proud HBCU legacy, he earned his B.A. in English Language and Literature from Tougaloo College and his M.A. in English from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

Scott brings more than ten years of experience as an educator, spanning summer and after-school program development, collegiate instruction, and professional development training in AI, DEI, and job readiness. He is a certified DEI Trainer through the Center for Equity and Inclusion and is currently pursuing certification as an Executive Coach from the Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute.

In his work with young people, Scott prioritizes joy, leadership development, critical imagination, self-determination, and global citizenship.

Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, soccer, African and house dancing, barbecuing, gardening, and exploring cultures through travel.
