We’re so glad you’re considering The Academy. Our admissions process is designed to help us get to know your child and your family, and to help you get to know us. Here’s what to expect.

1. Inquire
Start by telling us a little about your family and your child. It takes just a couple of minutes, and it’s the first step toward joining our community.

2. Apply
Complete the application in Ravenna by Friday, January 22, 2027. You’ll share information about your child, your family, and what brings you to The Academy. When you’re finished, you’ll be invited into your family portal, where you can track your application and everything that comes next.

3. Family Conversation
Every family sits down with us one-on-one in January or February. This is your time to ask questions, tell us about your child, and get a feel for whether The Academy is the right home for your family. Once your application is in, we’ll reach out to find a time.

4. Student Visit
Students entering grades 2–8 spend a day shadowing in a classroom, so they can experience The Academy firsthand. Children entering kindergarten and first grade come for a warm get-to-know-you visit with our teachers. Student visits take place in January and February, and we’ll schedule yours after we receive your application.

5. Letters of Recommendation
We ask your child’s current teacher (or preschool director) for a confidential recommendation. Tell us who to contact and we’ll send them the form directly.

6. Financial Aid (optional)
The Academy is committed to making our education accessible. We use School and Student Services (SSS) for financial aid applications. Applying is confidential. Financial aid applications are due with the admission application on Friday, January 22, 2027.

7. Decisions
Admission and financial aid decisions go out on Thursday, March 11, 2027. Enrollment contracts are due back by Thursday, March 18, 2027.

Annual tuition for the 2026–27 school year is $33,699 for the Lower School and $38,748 for the Upper School

Field trips are an important part of our curriculum, and there is a separate field trip fee: $300 for K–5 and $600 for grades 6–8. It covers commercial transportation when numbers and distances call for it.

Additionally, the school purchases all school supplies and materials for each student and charges a $200 fee annually.

Tuition is paid through Blackbaud Tuition Management (formerly Smart Tuition).

Financial Aid

To apply, start in the SSS Family Portal:

Once you're in the portal:

1. Create an SSS account, or log in to an existing one

2. Select The Academy School when prompted

3. Complete the Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) for the current application year

4. Upload any required supporting documents

You won't need a special school code to begin. If you're applying to more than one school, a single SSS application can be sent to multiple institutions.

Deadlines
Current families should submit by mid-January.
Prospective families should submit by the application deadline, January 23, 2027.
